As rising second-year Morehead-Cain scholars, we were assigned to work in Calgary for our Civic Collaboration summer project.
Modeled after the Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University, the Morehead-Cain is the first merit-based scholarship in the United States. Beyond four fully-funded years of study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, it includes a rigorous, extensive summer enrichment program allowing scholars to travel the world and make a tangible impact on a local and global scale.
Scholars are awarded the Morehead-Cain based on the four pillars of academic scholarship, leadership, character, and physical vigor. Less than 3% of nominees are selected for the Morehead-Cain scholarship.
